Library Instruction Options

Instruction Librarians can work with your students in many ways, to help them successfully complete and understand projects requiring the use of information sources beyond course materials. Here are a few examples of how we can collaborate:

  • "Ask a Librarian" type Discussion Boards in Canvas
  • Embedded Librarians in Canvas so students can reach them via Canvas Inbox
  • In person or online guest-lecture type instruction sessions (a librarian visits your class and helps students meet outcomes determined by the instructor and librarian)
  • Recorded instruction sessions or tutorials based on course and assignment specifics
  • Provide general tutorials through the SLCC Libraries Tutorials link below
  • Brainstorm learning activities to help students critically engage with information
  • Meet with students in small groups or individually to help with research projects

Connect with your librarian

Library Services purchases and provides access to many resources specifically for faculty, staff, and administrators.  Some of the more frequently used resources can be found on the guide.  Please use the tabs at the top to navigate the major resources listed.

If you're not finding what you need, please contact the librarian on the right hand side of the page.  You can also request or suggest by contacting the librarian on the right or reaching out to the liaison for your school or discipline.
