Explore the Library's book resources - both print and electronic - on this page. If you need a print resource which the Library does not have, try using inter-library loan; find more information on this service below.
You can use OneSearch to find eBooks as well as journal articles and other source types! Do a general search for "biology" - or use more specific keywords - in OneSearch, and then select the limiter "Limit to eBooks" on the left-hand side of the screen.
You can further limit the results by setting the publishing dates and by adding more keywords in the search entry boxes. Some will be false leads that have the word "biology" in them, but there should be some great e-books in the list.
Course reserves are print books available for students to use in-library for four hours at a time. They can be checked out from the circulation desk at each campus Library. You can search for books on reserve to find out which campus Library has the reserve book you would like to use.
The Library also has some digital course reserves. You may search for them using the eReserve tool.

A call number is the number (which usually has letters in it) or the group of letters assigned to each item in the library. Every call number is unique. These numbers are designed to help you find the book, video, or CD that you need.
These are the general call numbers where you can find print biology books:
570 - Life Sciences, Biology
571 - Physiology
572 - Biochemistry
576 - Genetics and Evolution
577 - Ecology
580 - Plants (Botany)
590 - Animals (Zoology)
If you can't find the item you are looking for, talk to the library staff. We're happy to help you find what you need!
If the Library doesn't have the book or article that you need, try requesting it through inter-library loan (ILL). ILL allows you borrow items from other libraries, even those that are out of state. Take a look at the ILL guidelines to learn more.
Get started by creating a free account with Illiad by choosing "First Time Users." You'll only need to do this the first time you request an item. Then simply fill out the request form for the item you would like to borrow.
