Ethnographies

Find ethnographies at SLCC Libraries using the following tips:

  • Search using terms for the group of people you are interested in (i.e. Nahuatl, Anasazi, etc.) or go more broad with a Title search for "peoples"
  • Try using "ethnography" or "ethnographies" as a search term (or ethnograph* in our database OneSearch)
  • Many ethnographies utilize interviews, so if you see "interviews" in the description of a book, that may be an ethnographic approach

Some of our ethnographies are shown below- use the hints on the eBooks box to find digital options! And always confirm with your instructor that your selection matches their expectations for an assignment.

Find eBooks

OneSearch (EBSCO Discovery Service)

                       Contact a Librarian

               Searches most databases.

Search the Catalog

This is the best way to find printed books (by location), some tech. e-books, some online videos (Films on Demand) and  physical DVDs, etc.

Search the catalog:

Note: system is down in Summer 2022 while a new system is put in place.  Ask a librarian for locations.

Use the OneSearch database also, especially for online journal articles and many more e-books and online videos, etc.  Look for the search bar at the lower center of the main Library page.
