Ethnography: Finding Sources

To find credible, academic, supplemental sources to support your ethnography project, try:

  1. Look up your group in OneSearch (i.e. "academic librarians")
  2. Add sub-topics to your group name in your search as needed. For example:
    1. academic librarians communication
    2. academic librarians religion (or religious beliefs)
    3. academic librarians gender roles
  3. You can also search the internet, but try adding .gov or .org or .edu to your search to pull in more appropriate sources for your assignment.
  4. Consider using eHRAF World Cultures depending on your group
  5. Check in with Jamie for help!

It's okay to be more general or broad with your sources, just be sure to focus your fieldwork locally.

Local newspapers are great resources! Also check local government websites, local research centers, etc.
