Hispanic Heritage Month is a month long celebration beginning on September 15th through October 15th. This month recognizes the influence of people with roots in Spanish-speaking countries, including those from Latin America, Spain, and the Caribbean. The celebration begins mid-September to coincide with the independence anniversaries of several Latin American countries, like Guatemala, Mexico and Chile. Hispanic Heritage Month is an opportunity to learn about and appreciate the traditions, arts, and accomplishments of Hispanic people, highlighting their vital role in shaping our nation's history and culture.
In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, SLCC Library Services is excited to feature a digital display highlighting works by Hispanic and Latine authors. The display offers a curated selection of physical books, DVD's and other resources that explore Latine culture, history, and contributions, available for easy access.
