The Library's online databases provide many journal articles, e-books, and other sources on Chemistry topics. Use the links below to get started finding resources from them.

Off Campus Access

Current students, faculty, and staff can access all electronic library resources off campus. When prompted, enter your MySLCC username and password.

The Journal of Chemical Education publishes peer-reviewed articles and related information about chemical content, laboratory experiments, instructional methods, and pedagogies.

Science Direct contains scholarly articles on a variety of topics including chemistry.
ACS Guide to Scholarly Communication This link opens in a new window
Use to learn about the chemistry research, reporting, writing, and publication process. Do not use to find research articles on a topic! The ACS Guide to Scholarly Communication covers everything from classic journal authoring topics to emerging areas of interest in scholarly communication, including Open Access & Open Science, Sharing Data, Communicating Safety Information, and Preprints.

Multidisciplinary Databases

A great starting place! Search most of the Library's databases at the same time. It includes over 20 databases from various vendors and brings up many e-books as well.

A multidisciplinary database, JSTOR includes multiple journals and articles focused on chemistry.
Sage Journals Online This link opens in a new window
Full-text access to journals in the Science, Technology, and Medicine disciplines with a few titles focused specifically on chemistry. Find additional journals on Business, Humanities, and Social Sciences.

Want to access additional databases?

Pro Tip: You may need database coverage beyond what the Library has available. If so, with the UALC (Utah Academic Library Consortium) agreement, you can use other university or college libraries in the state. To do so, show your ID card and bring proof you are a current student at SLCC. Login with a guest pass and use their databases there. Check with each partner institution for their specific requirements.
