Getting Started with the Library

Use our website to find sources, ask questions, and get help with your research.

In-Person

Visit us to use our study spaces, white boards, computers, speak with librarians, or to check out a book (free). Our libraries are at:

  • Taylorsville Campus at 4600 S. Redwood Road
  • South City Campus at 1575 South on State Street, SLC
  • Jordan Campus at about 90th South 3500 W. in W. Jordan
  • Miller Campus at 9750 S. 300 W. in Sandy

We provide many resources, and they are shown here in three areas:

1. Digital examples:

  • Many Online Scholarly and journals or magazines on different topics (using a database)
  • Online Newspaper articles, for current news items. Also see New Y. Times Daily Passes.
  • E-Books, for lengthy and in-depth research
  • Online Videos of documentary and other films 
  • Statistical information, such as bar charts and detailed reports.
  • Research guides, like this one, with tips, resource access, and other information

  • Study rooms or spaces
  • Print books, a few print magazines or journals, and DVDs
  • Many SLCC Textbooks on Reserve, to use for 24 hours at a time
  • Computers in the open labs with printers and copiers
  • Laptops and Wi-fi Hotspots to borrow 
  • Anatomy models

3. Personal Librarian Help

  • Schedule an in-person or online meeting with an Instruction / Liaison Librarian. See left.
  • Get help in the Library at the Reference Desk
  • Use the chat service to ask a question and get answers or be directed to other services
